Skater of the Year: Tommy Fynn

A massive congratulations to INDEPENDENT team rider Tommy Fynn – the 2013 Slam Skater of the Year. After an enormous year, the South Africa-born, Brisbane-based ripper has been crowned king and handed $2,000 from our presenting partner Killcom. It was you, the readers, who decided this year’s victor and Tommy took the number one spot by a considerable margin. Three insane full-length video parts, consistently popping up in edits all over the net, a crazy amount of photos, and he’s Skateboarding Australia’s Oz Champ for 2012, again – it is truly Tommy’s time. Stay tuned to the Slam site as next week we announce New Gen of the Year, Video Part of the Year and we’ll induct a legend into Slam’s Hall of Fame.

When you think of New York City and you think of Hip-Hop, the infamous Wu-tang Clan is among the top of notable mentions, not the least of which is Old Dirty Bastard-the now deceased member of the original Wu squad who’s infamy and legacy have survived him well beyond the grave. In honor of one of New York City’s greatest Hip-Hop ambassadors, Zoo York has joined forces on a special, limited collaboration in honor of Big Baby Jesus himself.
